Kamjel is one of the most beautiful canyons of Iran, that passes on the famous Chalous road and Hezar Cham area. There are many waterfalls in Kamjel canyon, located in the middle of the forest.

Kamjel is technical, as, with the risk of floods, you should know the exact weather conditions before navigating. Crossing the valleys requires weather forecasting and the absence of unfavorable weather conditions such as rain because it makes the route unsafe. You can execute a good plan by forecasting the weather as well as pieces of training before the main program and having the gears and equipment. Technical information of Kamjel

Kamjel is located in N361433 E511504 in Mazandaran province.

The beginning height of Kamjal is 2,332 meters, and the end is 1,348 meters above sea level. Canyoning the beautiful Kamjel is includes about 30 waterfalls rappelling. The canyon has tall waterfalls between 20 and 60 meters high, which are located at the bottom of the canyon. To pass the whole route, you will definitely need to spend one night in the valley, be note that there is only few flat and acceptable places to rest and camp and accommodate only 10 people.

The water of Kamjel is low, and it gets wet only up to the legs, except in the waterfalls that have to be crossed underwater when rappelling.  When you make the last rappel, after a 50-meter walk, you will reach the side of Hezar Cham road and the "Rock" restaurant. Remember that cenyoning in Kamjel needs a professional mountain guide.

 

Essential Tips for Kamjel canyoning

The best canyoning season is summer about July and August.

To reach the beginning of the canyon, you have to go to the workshop of Siah Bishe dam on Chalous road in Karaj, and after about 2 hours hiking in the forest, you’ll reach the beginning of Kamjal.
