Nava village


Nava is one of the regions of Larijan district in Amol city. This pleasant climate region with summer villages and flower-filled plains is famous among nature lovers. Colorful orchards in summer and the clean climate of this area give a beautiful look to the village of Nava. Throughout the village, natural springs have boiled with clear and cool water, and wild tulips appear in the foothills of the Alborz mountain range.

Spectacular attractions of Nava village

There are lots of attractions around the region so let's dive into some of them;

1) Azoo Plain

There are many highlights near Nava village, but the main one is its access to Azoo plain. Azoo is located in the heights and covered with wild and green Meadows. In spring and summer, the greenery of the plain increases, and yellow flowers appear over this plain. Good to know that Azoo plain has the best view of the eastern front of Damavand Mt.

In the corners of Azoo plain, you will see boulders with small and large dimensions and strange shapes.  Also, single trees have grown here, some of them are very old. By crossing a dirt path, you will reach the plain from Nava village. This path is about 2 km long, approximately parallel to the Azoo River. The plants and animals of the Azoo Plain are very diverse. The region is home to animals such as Foxes, Rats, Otters, and Crows. This area is covered with Mint, Thyme, Dandelion, Chamomile, and Angelica.It will be necessary to bring essentials and equipment for hiking, IRMtravel recommend camping in this plain and watching the beautiful sky at night.

 

2) Lake Sahun

Another attraction near the village of Nava is the dazzling Sahun Lake.

The Lake is located in the northern region and had an area of ​​more than 100 hectares until decades ago with lots of water. But now, because of the time passage and human intervention in nature, its volume has gradually decreased, and today the lake is left with a swamp surrounded by large Meadows. As you walk around Sahun Lake in the lights of the sun, the water of that turns blue.

 

3) Nava Ice Waterfall

This waterfall is icy in winter, and for only a short period of summer, a stream of water flows from its sides. This magnificent ice waterfall in winter is about 120 meters high and 3 meters wide.

 

4) The peak of Pashore

Pashore peak is one of the famous ones near Nava village. Due to its spectacular scenery, many climbers come here every year to see and experience it. Ascending this peak along the scenic route of the village, Azoo plain and the magnificent Damavand Mt. become more beautiful. Climbing Pashore peak is complete mountaineering and takes about 8 hours, so be sure to climb this peak with an experienced mountain guide.

 

The best time to visit Nava village

The best time to visit the village and absolutely Azoo Plain is from mid-May to mid-June. Also, during October and November, the plain and its trees are very beautiful and spectacular.

Due to the location of Nava village and Azoo plain in mountainous areas, these areas get very cold in autumn and winter, IRMTravel doesn't recommend non-professional groups to climb. In winter, the access route to this plain is full of snow and dangerous.

 

Nava village route

The distance from Tehran to Nava village from the beginning of the eastern exit on Yasini Highway is about 100 km. By entering Haraz road and crossing Polour, right after the exit of Rineh city, in the Pol-e Mun neighborhood, you will see the sign of this village.

By driving for 30 minutes, you will reach the village on an asphalt road. Be noted that this route is generally icy and slippery in winter so, we recommend you to travel with professional mountain tours.
