Alam-Kūh -Mount Alam is a mountain in the Alborz mountain range in the north of Iran, Mazandaran Province, forming a peak of the Takht-e Suleyman Massif. It is located in the Kelardasht District of the MazandaranProvince of Iran. With an elevation of 4860 meters it is the second highest peak in Iran behind Mount Damavand. there is many peaks over 4000 meters it is a suitable place for mountaineering. Peaks such as: Lashgarak – Gardonkooh – Chaloon and many other peaks in the area also the main peak Alamkooh (4811m) is also good to ascend. It is also a good place for acclimatization before climbing Damavand. you can see a spectacular view of Alborz mountains over the 4000 meters high peak. Mount Damavand also known as Donbavand, a potentially active volcano and the highest peak in Iran, has a special place in Persian mythology and folklore. Located in the middle Alborz Range, adjacent to Varārū, Sesang, Gol-e Zard and Mīānrūd, it is the highest point in the Middle East and the highest volcano in all of Asia. It is a potentially active volcano, since there are fumaroles near the summit crater emitting sulfur. There are at least 16 known routes to the summit which have different difficulties. Some of them are dangerous and require rock or ice climbing.The most popular route is the Southern Route which has step stamps and also a camp midway called Bargah Sevom Camp/Shelter at 4220 m (about 13,845 ft).IMT company have a very nice renew private camp in 4150m that is use for IMT clients. Itinerary

  • Day 1 :  Vandarbon mountain hut

    Arrival at te IKA Airport. visit your mountain guide and driving from Tehran to Marzan Abad and Roodbarak and Vandarbon mountain hut on 2200m via Chaloos road about 5 hours.

  • Day 2:  Hiking up to the base camp

    Hiking up to the base camp after breakfast driving a 4*4 car to a place called Tange Galoo 0n 3200m about 1hour. From Tange Galoo we are going to have a 2-hour hike to Hesarchal camp about 3700m. Short walk around and overnight at the camp. porter (mules) 15kg per person is include.

  • Day 3:  Acclimatization day on Lashgarak peak 4200m

    Climbing Lashgarak peak 4200m about 2 hours and back to the camp. there is a beautiful glacier lake in the way of the peak and we have a very clear nice view of the area include Alamkouh from the peak.

  • Day 4:  Alamkooh peak 4860m

    After breakfast early in the morning start climbing Alamkooh peak about 5 hours. in case of weather we can even see Damavand 5610m from Alamkouh. we can also see some part of the north face wall, north Glacier Alamchal etc.. after climbing the peak we will go back down to the camp and head down to the Tange Galu and Vandarbon mountain hut. porter (mules) 15kg per person is include.

  • Day 5:  Caspian sea

    Driving to Vandarbon and Roodbarak and Caspian sea in Mahmood Abad about 3 hours. Sightseeing in city include local Bazaar and swimming in the see. then drive to the Reineh village 2050m located in the south face of Damavand.

  • Day 6:  camp renew Bargah-e sevom at 4200m

    After breakfast drive about 1 hour to camp 2 (Gosfandsara) The 4-5 hour hiking begins from camp2 at 3000 and will take us up to the advanced camp renew Bargah-e sevom at 4200m.

  • Day 7:  Summit Day

    Team leave in the morning (around 5 am) for the summit. The climbing takes between 6-8 hours depending on the pace and descend about 2-3 hours down to the hut.

    After breakfast team descend to the Reineh village. visit Mineral hot spring Village for relaxing. Drivre to Tehran and Departure.
